The Greenbelt Pumpkin Festival: Fri, Oct. 23

Live music, pumpkin guts, the smell of burning squash flesh, and the opportunity for minor injury makes for one smashing evening of seasonal community fun. The event is organized by our violin teacher, the great Allison Smith. We carved and donated our entire crop (2) that grew spontaneously in the front yard after we spread compost. The kids designed their own faces and advised my technical skills during the carving.
